Would definitely recommend for spending night

Comfortable room, excellent location, the flat-screen TV and electric kettle add great convenience for a relaxing stay to unwind after a day of exploring nearby attractions.

we had a lovely stay at hare and hounds. the rooms were gorgeous, and we were welcomed warmly by max at check-in, who made us feel at home right away. the food was excellent, especially the breakfast with fresh croissants and a hot menu. it's also conveniently close to the woodspeen restaurant, which is a plus.

ideal spot for parks and city walks in newbury

I truly enjoyed my stay here, with the delightful strolls to Victoria Park, just almost 2 km away, and the charming Newbury Wharf, which was also close enough to explore on foot. the friendly staff and the little details like fresh milk for tea made my time here even more special.

we stayed for 2 nights and the room was small but beautifully decorated. the shower was really good, and we had hot water all the time. we had dinner at the restaurant on the first night and it was delicious and a good value. breakfast was included and had a nice cooked side & buffet. the atmosphere was cozy and ideal for a couple getaway.

great experience but minor room issues

The attention to detail in the room was impressive. Creative touches, like the earplugs and pillow spray, added to the comfort of our stay.

The room had some minor cleaning inconsistencies, which detracted slightly from the overall experience.

We had an amazing time enjoying the beautiful garden and the kids loved the fun entertainment packs they got at dinner. The hotel offers perfect spots to relax under the trees or by the lovely firepit. Just a heads up, the breakfast service took a bit longer than expected, but it didn’t ruin our experience! 😊

Perfect for a relaxing getaway

The staff were warm and genuinely wanted to help plus I walked into my room and found fresh milk waiting for me along with a box of chocolates which felt like a special touch.

It wasn't exactly cheap but for the quality it was still quite reasonable.

The king room was super comfy with a private bathroom, fresh milk, and complimentary bottled water. The heating worked well, and the shower had great water pressure. Breakfast offered freshly baked croissants and a hot menu. Staff were friendly and the atmosphere was cozy. Really enjoyed my stay!
